Three shops, two currencies

Gear on this page is the mainland shop only. The Forgotten Isle adds a second economy in Pearls with its own tool shop (Capt' Roger) and its own decoration shop (Aladdin's Pearl Shop). Use the tiles below to jump to the right shop.

How Gear Works in Garden Horizons

All 17 gear items in Garden Horizons are purchased from Molly's shop using Shillings (the in-game currency). The only exception is the Shovel, which every player receives for free at the start. Gear ranges from the basic Machete (500 Shillings) to the end-game Reverter (1,000,000 Shillings).

Gear falls into three categories: sprinklers (automate watering and boost growth/fruit size), harvest tools (Harvesting Bell for AoE collection, Shovel for removal), and utility tools (Favoriting Tool for protection, Trowel for moving plants). Each tool serves a specific purpose in optimizing your farm.

The upcoming Reclaimer tool (arriving in the March 7, 2026 update) will let you convert planted crops back into seeds — unlike the Shovel which destroys them permanently.

SprinklerSprinklers

Sprinkler Comparison — Basic vs Turbo vs Super

Sprinklers are the most important gear in Garden Horizons. They automate watering, boost crop growth speed, and increase fruit size (bigger fruit = higher sell price). Here is a side-by-side comparison of all three sprinkler types:

Sprinkler Stacking — How It Works

Different sprinkler types stack multiplicatively. Placing one Basic Sprinkler (1.3×) + one Turbo Sprinkler (1.6×) + one Super Sprinkler (2×) + one Super Watering Can (2×) in the same area gives:

Growth: 1.3 × 1.6 × 2 × 2 = 8.32× faster

Fruit size: 1.2 × 1.5 × 2 × 1.5 = 5.4× bigger

Important: Two copies of the same type do NOT stack — two Super Watering Can give the same effect as one. Buy one of each for optimal results. Sprinklers can now be placed directly on top of each other (no gap needed).

Combine with weather boosts — a 4-sprinkler stack (8.32× growth) during Storm weather (+50% growth) makes crops grow almost instantly.

Gear FAQ

Do sprinklers stack in Garden Horizons?

Yes — different types stack (Basic Sprinkler + Turbo Sprinkler + Super Sprinkler + Super Watering Can = 8.32× growth, 5.4× fruit size). Two of the same type do NOT stack. Place all 4 on the same spot for maximum effect.

What is the best gear to buy first?

Start with the Watering Can (5k) for manual growth boost, then Basic Sprinkler (15k) for automation. Next get Harvesting Bell (35k) for efficient collection. Save for Turbo and Super Sprinklers once you have a steady income.

Where do you buy gear in Garden Horizons?

All 17 gear items are sold by Molly at her shop. The Shovel is the only free tool — given to all players at start. Prices range from 500 (Machete) to 1,000,000 Shillings (Reverter).

Do sprinklers affect ripening (Unripe → Ripened → Lush)?

No — sprinklers only boost growth speed and fruit size. The ripening process (Unripe to Ripened to Lush) is time-based and not affected by any gear. See the variants page for ripening details.

How does the Reverter work?

The Reverter (1000k) lets you pick up and move a planted crop to a new location without destroying it. All growth and ripening progress is preserved. You can also rotate plants freely at any angle.

Is the Harvesting Bell worth 35k?

Yes, if harvesting high-value crops. One bell ring collects all fruit in a large area. For multi-harvest trees combined with sprinklers, a single harvest can easily exceed 35k in value.
