The Forgotten Isle Update
The Islands Update turns Garden Horizons from a one-map farming loop into a two-zone economy with active combat. Full breakdown below covers ten island plants, four brand new mainland crops, the six-tier harvest tool system topping out at CrystalPickaxe (Mythical, 150k Pearls, 35 damage), seven enemy types on the island including two ranged threats and two Boat Raid Raiders, chest loot tables, Aladdin's 31-decoration Pearl Shop, five new event weathers (Volcano Eruption, Bandit Raid, Manny's Mishap, DJ Kine, Beam Clash), six new mutations, and the five-step tutorial that pays 1,800 Pearls.

The Forgotten Isles official onboarding map, shown in-game the first time you approach the boat dock.
How the Island Actually Works
The Forgotten Isle runs on a different economy from the mainland. You do not buy island seeds from a shop — you harvest them from wild resource nodes with the correct tool. Below is exactly what happens the first ten minutes you set foot on the island.
You arrive with a Knife
Chop wild Cactus for seeds

Wild Cactus plants spawn all over the island. Walk up to one, swing the Knife three times (3 durability), and the node explodes. It drops exactly one Cactus Seed to your inventory. The node respawns 15 seconds later at the same spot, so you can camp one Cactus patch and grind seeds continuously.
Plant the seed on an island plot

The island has six dedicated plots reserved for island crops (separate from your mainland plots). Plant the Cactus Seed there. Cactus grows in 90 seconds — one of the fastest island plants. When ripe, harvest it with the Knife again to get the produce.
Sell at the Sell Stand for Pearls

Take the harvested Cactus to the island's dedicated Sell Stand, a separate counter from mainland Steve. It pays out in Pearls, not Shillings — 10
per Cactus at base value, more if the fruit is Lush or has a mutation. Pearls are the whole point of the island: they unlock every other tool, decoration and Pearl Shop item.
The rest of the island is just this loop, scaled up.
Once you have a stack of Pearls, buy a Machete (500 Pearls) from Capt' Roger — that unlocks four more Cutting nodes (Barrel Cactus, Prickly Pear, Coconut, Sea Bamboo) worth more per harvest. Then a Pickaxe (2,000 Pearls) unlocks the Mining category (Crystal + Geode Bloom). Scimitar (8,000) unlocks Lava and Lunar Plant. GoldScimitar (30,000) unlocks the Mythic Isle Relic Tree. CrystalPickaxe (150,000 Pearls, Mythical) is the last upgrade — highest damage in the game at 35 per swing. In between, you can fight enemies (10 to 70 Pearls per kill), open chests (2% jackpot for 800-1,500 Pearls), and spend Pearls at Aladdin's 31-item decoration shop.
What Ships With the Islands Update
Every number below comes straight from the live client snapshot on 2026-07-28. Sections are ordered by the actual player journey: unlock the island, buy tools, farm nodes, fight enemies, open chests, spend Pearls at Aladdin's shop.

All Island Plants
Ten crops live on The Forgotten Isle: six brand new species and four returning plants that were rebalanced in this update. Cactus dropped from Uncommon to Common and now sits at the very start of the progression. Coconut, Crystal and Lava all had their base sell prices trimmed sharply. Grow times shifted across the board. Each plant is a wild resource node on the island. Destroy it with the right tool, take the seed, plant it on one of your six island plot slots.
Base column shows the base sell price in Pearls. Island plants are sold at the dedicated Sell Stand on The Forgotten Isle, which pays out in the island currency, not Shillings. Weight column shows the base fruit weight in kilograms. Both values scale up with sprinklers, ripening and mutations. Values are pulled from the pre-release client snapshot and will be verified against the live Sell Stand UI once the island unlocks.

Two Hidden From the Flora Book
Geode Bloom and Isle Relic Tree are flagged as FloraBlacklist entries, so they will not show up as discoverable targets in the Flora Book. You find them by exploring the island rather than checking a checklist.
Four New Mainland Plants Also Ship in This Patch
The Islands Update release patch also adds four brand new mainland crops sold at Bill's Seed Shop for Shillings. These are separate from the ten island plants above and grow on your normal mainland plot.
Harvest Tools
Two parallel tool categories exist on the island. Cutting tools slice wild plants: Knife, Machete, Scimitar and GoldScimitar. Mining tools break geodes: Pickaxe and the endgame CrystalPickaxe. A Cutting tool cannot break a Mining node and vice versa, so you need both categories to unlock the whole island. All six Pearl-priced tools are sold by Capt' Roger at his dockside shop on The Forgotten Isle.

Combat on the Island
The Forgotten Isle is the first Garden Horizons zone with active combat. Seven enemy types patrol the island across three roles: three melee roamers (Bandit, Monk, Brute), two ranged threats (Tribal Warrior with a Spear, Pirate with a Flintlock musket), and two event-only Raiders (Raid Bandit, Raid Pirate) that spawn during the Boat Raid event. Every kill drops Pearls in a fixed range, so combat becomes one of your three primary Pearl income streams alongside chest hunting and node farming.
Your outbound damage per swing scales with the harvest tool you have equipped. Knife hits for 10, Machete 15, Pickaxe 20, Scimitar 25, GoldScimitar 30, and the endgame Mining tool CrystalPickaxe hits for 35 — the highest per-swing damage in the game. Higher-tier tools cut both plants and combat time. Aggressive enemies chase on sight from up to 40 studs away, Monk is the only neutral enemy and only fights when attacked first, and ranged enemies (Pirate, Tribal Warrior) can hit you from 30 to 45 studs so cover matters.

AGGRESSIVERaid Pirate
AGGRESSIVERanged Enemies and the Boat Raid Event
Pirate and Tribal Warrior are the two ranged enemies. Pirate fires a Flintlock musket at 180 studs per second — the fastest projectile in the game — from up to 45 studs away, dealing 18 damage per shot. Tribal Warrior throws Spears at 65 studs per second from up to 30 studs. Both are highly punishing in the open. Approach behind cover (rocks, chests, palm trees) and close the distance to melee range before engaging.
Raid Bandit and Raid Pirate only spawn during the Boat Raid event — a scripted invasion triggered by the Ships weather flag. Raiders do not respawn once killed, and clearing a raid pays out its combined Pearl reward as a lump sum.
Chests
Chests spawn across The Forgotten Isle and respawn every 90 seconds after opening. Every chest guarantees a reward. The loot table sums to 100 percent with no failure state. Roughly 86 percent of rolls drop Pearls, 14 percent drop an early-tier island seed. Expected value per chest: 112
averaged across the Pearls-only rolls.
| Chance | Reward | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| 50% | Small Pearl stash | 30-70 |
| 25% | Medium Pearl stash | 90-170 |
| 9% | Large Pearl stash | 250-450 |
| 2% | Pearl jackpot | 800-1500 |

The 2 Percent Jackpot
Two percent of chest opens drop the big Pearl stash: 800-1500
in one hit. At an average of 1,150
per jackpot, one lucky chest opens the Machete then Pickaxe purchase in a single moment. Chest hunting is the highest-variance Pearl income path in the game.
Aladdin's Pearl Shop
Aladdin runs the single decoration merchant in the game on The Forgotten Isle. Thirty-one decorations rotate through his stock on a 300-second restock cycle, priced in Pearls. Range: 250
for Wood Fence up to 450,000
for Big Pond. No seeds in the rotation, decorations only.

Aladdin's stand UI — purple-and-white striped awning, five-minute restock timer top-left, warm-yellow storefront. Same visual language as the mainland Seed Shop.
Each tile shows the decoration icon, name, price in Pearls, and rarity badge. When a rotation slot has already been bought out, the tile switches to a red NO STOCK banner and greys the icon out — wait for the next 5-minute restock or move to another Aladdin instance.
Approach Aladdin's tent and press the interact prompt to open this UI.

Six decorations exist in the game files but are absent from Aladdin's Pearl Shop stock: Bee, Fruit Basket, Gazebo, Party Flags, Sunflower, Default Fence. Source unconfirmed. Likely event rewards, gamepass unlocks, or a future update tie-in. Watch the release-day patch notes for their acquisition path.
Volcano Eruption Weather and the Molten Mutation
The Islands Update ships one event-only weather: Volcano Eruption. When active, the volcano on the island spews lava. Every plant gets a 2 percent chance per tick to receive the new Molten mutation, a 5x multiplier in red-orange. Volcano Eruption lasts 5 minutes with +20 percent grow speed. It never rolls in the natural weather cycle, admins or scripted events trigger it.

Lava Ball
Volcanic projectile that spawns during Volcano Eruption. Impact damages nearby players and applies the Molten mutation to plants in the blast radius. A ground-marker ring appears briefly before impact, so keep moving during the event.
Molten Farming Setup
Molten stacks multiplicatively with sprinklers, weight, ripening and color variants. Ideal setup: a plot of high-base-weight island crops such as Isle Relic Tree at 0.80 kg, Lava at 0.60 kg, Coconut at 0.50 kg, inside overlapping Basic, Turbo and Super sprinklers. Then hit the Volcano Eruption window. A fully Lush Molten Isle Relic Tree fruit is one of the highest-value harvests in the entire game.
How to Unlock the Island
Capt' Roger sits at the mainland dock south-east of the Town Square. Deliver three items and pay him: 3 Nails, 6 Wood, and 1 Rose (the trade fruit). Once paid, the boat trip cutscene plays and drops you at The Forgotten Isle dock. Return trips reuse the same fare, but the cutscene has a Skip button after the first ride.
| Item | Amount | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Nails | 3 | 1 per pickup on the mainland. Exact source (breakable objects, enemy drops, NPC hand-off) not confirmed pre-release. |
| Wood | 6 | 2 per pickup on the mainland. Same open question as Nails on the exact source. |
| Rose | 1 | Buy Rose seed at Bill's Seed Shop for 10,000 Shillings, grow it, and hand the fruit to Roger. |
Five-Step Tutorial

Pearl Farming Strategy
Three parallel Pearl income streams exist on the island: chest hunting, enemy combat, and resource node farming. Each has a different risk profile and Pearl-per-minute ceiling.
Chest Hunting
Highest variance income stream. Every chest guarantees a reward but the 2 percent jackpot chance is what makes this path competitive. Patrol multiple chest spawns to keep respawn cooldowns rolling.
Enemy Combat
Steady Pearl income scaling with tool tier. Bandit is the trainer at avg 12. Brute pays 37 but needs Scimitar or better or you burn HP. Monk is neutral so skip if you are not looking for combat.
Resource Nodes
StackCost drops when the node dies (Cactus 1, Isle Relic Tree 15). Zero combat risk, but you cannot progress past your current tool tier. Best combined with tools you already own.
Recommended Rotation
Early game (0 to 500 Pearls): Cactus nodes with Knife, then buy Machete. Mid game (500 to 2,000 Pearls): Machete rotation on Barrel Cactus, Prickly Pear, Coconut and Sea Bamboo, plus Bandit kills, then buy Pickaxe. Late game (2,000 to 30,000 Pearls): Mixed patrol on Pickaxe nodes (Crystal, Geode Bloom), Brute kills with Scimitar, and constant chest hunting toward GoldScimitar at 30,000. Endgame: GoldScimitar with Isle Relic Tree during Volcano Eruption for Molten-multiplied Lush fruit.
Everything Else Coming With This Update
The Islands Update also rebalances several existing systems and expands the placement cap.
Magnifying Glass Price Hike
Magnifying Glass at Molly's Gear Shop went from 150,000 to 500,000 Shillings, a 3.3x price increase. Still the only reusable info tool (never runs out), so long-term worth it, but the upfront cost is now a serious mid-game investment.
Weather Balance Changes
Storm mutation chance nerfed 2.5 to 1.75 percent. Meteor Shower nerfed 2.5 to 1.25 percent. Fog pool stripped of Chilled, Fog now spawns only Foggy. Snow pool stripped of Frostbit, combo-only now. Rain pool weighted 3 to 1 Soaked over Flooded. Weather is still the primary mutation source, but you need more plant density to hit the same mutation counts.
Placement Caps
MaxPlacedDecorations raised from 60 to 150 per garden. The Forgotten Isle enforces a separate 100-plant hard cap across all six island plots.
New Mutation VFX Not Yet Wired
Stormy and Galactic mutation VFX exist in the game files but neither has a corresponding definition in the mutations config. Likely release-day surprises or content reserved for a future patch. Bronze variant VFX is also present (multiplier still TBA).
Two New Events: Boat Raid and Manny Mishap
The Islands Update adds two brand new event mechanics that layer on top of the base island loop. Both were confirmed live in the release patch by direct game code inspection.
Boat Raid Event
Triggered by the Ships weather flag in the ActiveWeatherContent module. Pirate ships approach The Forgotten Isle and disgorge a wave of Raiders across the plots. Two enemy types spawn: Raid Bandit (60 HP, Knife, 10-15 Pearls per kill) and Raid Pirate (140 HP, Flintlock, 45-70 Pearls per kill). Raiders do not respawn — clear them all and the raid ends.
Reward: the combined Pearl payout of all Raiders on the map, dropped as a lump sum when the last one falls. Plan cover and focus-fire — fighting a full Raid in the open with no cover will delete you.
Manny Mishap Event
A new mainland mini-event with a weighted reward pool. Completing the event rolls one item from 21 possible rewards across three categories: 5 gears (Harvest Bell most common, Turbo Sprinkler, Super Sprinkler, Favorite Tool, Reverter), 4 seed packs (Gardener, Dawn, IGMA, Royal — equal chance), and 12 seeds ranging from Beetroot (most common) down to Mango (roughly 1 in 6,000).
Mango Seed at weight 0.01 is the rarest possible reward — roughly a 1-in-6000 roll against the whole pool. Mishap event trigger conditions and how often it runs are still being verified against the live patch.
Meet the Islands Update NPCs
Two functional shopkeepers arrive with the update. Roger runs the boat and the island tool shop, Aladdin runs the Pearl Shop. Blacksmith is a third visual NPC with a special caveat, covered below.
Capt' Roger
Boat captain and harvest tool merchant
Runs boat repair on the mainland dock and sells all six Pearl-priced harvest tools at his second shop stand on The Forgotten Isle dock: Machete, Pickaxe, Scimitar, GoldScimitar, and the endgame Mythical CrystalPickaxe (150,000 Pearls).
Aladdin
Pearl Shop decoration merchant
Runs the Pearl Shop on The Forgotten Isle, rotating 26 decorations across all 5 rarity tiers on a 5-minute restock cycle. Currency: Pearls.
Blacksmith Is a Visual NPC For Now
The Blacksmith NPC exists visually on the island. BlacksmithModel is in the game files and the character spawns near the dock, but no dedicated shop module is attached in the pre-release snapshot. All harvest tool sales go through Capt' Roger's CaptainRogerShopData. If the release-day patch adds a Blacksmith shop, we will update this section.
Islands Update FAQ
When does The Forgotten Isle unlock?
Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 20:00 UTC (22:00 CEST, 21:00 BST, 15:00 CDT). Confirmed by the game's ExpansionGate.GetUnlockTime() runtime call, which returns Unix timestamp 1785355200.
How do I unlock the island?
Repair Capt' Roger's boat on the mainland dock. Fare: 3 Nails, 6 Wood, and 1 Rose. Nails and Wood come from mainland pickups at 1 and 2 per pickup respectively. Rose seed is 10,000 Shillings at Bill's Seed Shop.
What are the ten island plants?
Six new species (Barrel Cactus, Prickly Pear, Sea Bamboo, Geode Bloom, Lunar Plant, Isle Relic Tree) plus four returning plants that were rebalanced (Cactus, Coconut, Crystal, Lava). Every island plant is a wild resource node, harvested with the correct tool.
Do I need both Cutting and Mining tools?
Yes. HarvestToolTiers enforces a category split. Cutting tools cannot break Mining nodes and vice versa. Crystal and Geode Bloom (both Epic) require the Pickaxe, which is the only Mining tool in the game.
How much Pearl grinding does GoldScimitar require?
30,000 Pearls. Realistic path: Machete (500), Pickaxe (2,000), Scimitar (8,000), GoldScimitar (30,000), for 40,500 Pearls total. Fastest path is combining resource nodes with Brute kills and chest hunting for the 2 percent jackpot.
Is Blacksmith a shopkeeper?
No, not in the pre-release snapshot. The Blacksmith model exists visually on the island and has an NPC tag, but no shop module is attached. All harvest tool sales go through Capt' Roger. This may change in the release-day patch.
What is Volcano Eruption?
A new event-only weather that spawns the Molten mutation (5x). Never rolls naturally, only triggered by admins or scripted island events. Duration 5 minutes with +20 percent grow speed. Watch for warning rings on the ground before Lava Balls impact.
Can I get decorations without playing the island?
26 of the 32 decorations are locked behind Aladdin's Pearl Shop, which requires Pearls, which are island-only. The remaining 6 (Bee, Fruit Basket, Gazebo, Party Flags, Sunflower, Default fence) are not in Aladdin's rotation and their source is unconfirmed.
